​Comparison of Sweatshirt Fabrics

• 100% Polyester: Shrinks the absolute least (less than 2%). It retains its size and shape best, though it can trap more heat and is prone to pilling over time. 

• 50/50 or 60/40 Cotton-Poly Blends: Shrinks very little (about 2 to 5%). Only the cotton part wants to pull inward, while the polyester holds the line. This is the most common balance of comfort and shrink resistance.

• 100% Cotton (Pre-shrunk): Shrinks moderately (3 to 5% or more if not properly pre-shrunk).

• 100% Cotton (Untreated / Heavyweight Fleece): Shrinks the most. Throwing an untreated cotton sweatshirt into a hot dryer all the way can easily shrink it by a full size or more
